In pursuit of its mandate to provide research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) generates a wide range of publications, datasets, and other research-based information resources. IFPRI considers these products to be international public goods, and is committed to enabling their widespread distribution and use by providing unrestricted public access.
Data are critical to and underpin all IFPRI research studies. Making the data generated by IFPRI’s research available and easily accessible to others for further use enhances the Institute's ability to carry out its mandate. As IFPRI works to increase access to data, it must also safeguard the privacy of the participants and subjects of its research. This means ensuring the protection of confidential and sensitive personal data collected for research and analysis while providing users with timely access to the research and data in appropriate formats.
IFPRI takes management of research data seriously and encourages all staff to engage in active data management, including creation, storage, usage, description, transmission, publication, archiving, disposal, and dissemination.
This website aims to assist researchers in managing their data by bringing together the latest and most relevant resources—including guidelines, policies, training materials, events, and news—in one place. Although these resources have been developed with IFPRI's work in mind, we believe they will be useful to researchers anywhere in the world.
